Still life drawing

My group each grabbed an object for this project and we came back with an apple, banana, pepper grinder, cootie-catcher, and an oragami flower. These items were completely random and so was the set up. I used a colored pencils to creat the color and the value. I think it turned out pretty well. I messed up in a couple of place. I also didn’t finish the background.

I chose to this object (DKNY glasses case) because it was basically the only thing I had on me at the time that was worth drawing. I used an ebony pencil and a regular number two pencil to create the values you see in the drawing. I also used an eraser to create some of the lighter values. Even though I used a ruler to create the straight edges, they still look crooked to me. You can see the direction of the lines in my drawing. If I could do it over I would put a little more value in the background.
